CLARE GIBNEY
Clare Gibney, formerly employed in prison services, is a self-taught artist.
She had palette-knife painting lessons from Marton palette-knife painter Richard Cotgrove. She has also been experimenting with colour and painting methods. "Every time I do a painting I learn something new. "Six to seven years ago I started painting as a hobby," Gibney said. "I prefer doing large abstract paintings with some realism. I enjoy playing with paint and experimenting ... seeing how it reacts on different surfaces, testing to make sure it stands up. "I am not afraid to take risks and make up my own rules as I go along." |
