In addition to his private life, he has worked as a graphic artist and illustrator for the NZ Herald for the past 10 years.
Gary is a New Zealand born, self taught artist. He showed flair at a very early age with his drawings and cartoons, developing his natural talent. His medium is currently with open acrylics, but his range is extensive and can include oils and pen & ink sketches. His passion is bird painting. “I like attention to detail in my works, with a little bit of quirkiness, and often a touch of humour.
Recent accomplishments include: Clifton’s Art Award Winner, Auckland 2012, International Clifton’s Art Award 2012 Top ten finalist, finalist in Australia’s ICC Art Awards and Walker & Hall people’s choice award, 2010.
