KYLIE-FLEUR (Formally known as Fleur Deighton)
Marlborough based artist Kylie Fleur emerged from Nelson after graduating with a Bachelor of Visual Arts Degree in 2004. She then embarked on a parallel career in Optics which inspired her to introduce Art and a new form of Expression to the Blind community, also running art workshops for corporate, adults and the youth. She enjoys a life with her husband and their two young children.
“I feel my way through a painting with purpose and intention, I approach my practice as both the artist and the observer, watching how each layer reacts with another layer, until the artwork unfolds and my intentions are realized” My art is born from a deep personal philosophy and the observation of humanity. In which I use metaphor to describe the values of modern society, drawing on issues such as consumerism, technology, and the effect that it has on the individual. Kylie Fleur is a contemporary and conceptual designer, mixed-media painter, resin sculptor and muralist. Exhibiting her work in solo and group exhibitions throughout New Zealand, she has international clients in Australia, UK, and the USA. |
