MANDY McCONNON

Mandy was born in Christchurch and has always had a passion for drawing and painting.
Spending twelve years in Australia she continued to paint and extended her creativity studying floristry, owning and operating her own floral studio for four years.
Since returning to Canterbury, Mandy has continued to work part-time as a florist, whilst following her passion as an artist, successfully exhibiting her paintings in galleries throughout the Canterbury region.
Mandy's works tend to have a New Zealand influence with an appreciation of her natural surroundings and love for nature strongly reflected in her art. 
A distinct subtlety is often evident in her paintings.
She works predominately in acrylic, incorporating mixed media and enjoys experimenting with different textures and layers to achieve her unique contemporary designs.
The majority of her current works have been painted on wood incorporating textures of tin which has given these new works a raw and natural quality.
